About us

We believe urban artists have a unique calling to share God’s hope and purpose in their own cities. Urban Arts Outreach is a diverse fellowship of Christian artists who mentor in hip-hop culture (break dancing, graffiti art, spoken word poetry, and DJing). We are committed to creating safe creative spaces to practice and keep the culture alive.

Do not neglect the gift you have ... Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. – Apostle Paul, 1 Timothy 4:12-16

Our unique values

We are inspired by diversity and meet people on their terms within the context of their city.

We build each other’s skills and see it as a means to get to know and love people.

We are called to create a unique and personal message of hope to those overlooked by society.

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. – Apostle Paul, Romans 15:20

Our mission

is to bridge cultural relevance (art) and service (purpose) by helping start safe creative practice spaces (what we call "sessions"). These spaces help connect artists to churches that have a serving need in the community. By doing this we creatively empower local means to help local needs.*

Sessions provide grounds for 3 needs:

Our pilot session began in 2007 in Downtown Santa Ana, the heart of Orange County California, where we've been facilitating hip-hop break dancing, graff arts, emceeing, deejaying, and other creative arts. The local youth call Santa Ana "Saint City," so we named our session Saint City Session because it exists by us and for us. This session serves as an open platform where people of different backgrounds can equally dialog with one another through art.

*We have DJs, Graffiti Artists, Poets, and Breakdancers in the following locations around Orange County: Santa Ana, Long Beach, Irvine, Lake Forest, Anaheim, Inglewood, Los Angeles, Garden Grove, Costa Mesa

Our team has members a part of Saddleback Church, Mariners, Blessed International, Cottonwood, and more.
